What does a pelvic floor PT do?

A pelvic floor PT is a licensed clinician who will examine a pregnant or postpartum person through a holistic approach. Through individualized one-on-one sessions we can perform movement analysis, strength and joint mobility assessments and more. Utilizing both internal and external assessment and treatment techniques when appropriate, to improve quality of life, and reduce pain/discomfort.

What does a birth doula do?

A doula provides support to mothers and their partners during pregnancy, labor, and the immediate postpartum period.

During pregnancy, we educate about pain management and possible labor and delivery scenarios to help families make informed decisions.

During labor, we use positioning and relaxation to help relieve pain and improve baby position to help ease the birthing process.

How do I know if I should go to a pelvic floor PT or use a doula?

If you are unsure if you should be getting pelvic floor PT, or hiring doula services, we offer a free phone call consultation to answer any questions and provide you with more information.

For pelvic floor PT, although we do not require a referral, we recommend consulting with your OBGYN when choosing to start pelvic floor PT.
